Stryker Sr. Tech, Engineering in Kalamazoo, Michigan
Under little or no supervision supports operations by designing fixtures, troubleshooting tooling/fixturing and manufacturing processing issues and machining/fabricating fixtures and fixture components, Will also assist in Fixture Design reviews to assure cost effectiveness and manufacturability
Construct (Machine/Fabricate/Assemble) fixtures and fixture components from engineering drawings, sketches and specifications.
Fixture documentation and control
Fixture database management
Fixture designs and redesigns
Provide troubleshooting guidance, assistance, and analysis of manufacturing/processing tooling and fixturing issues for all Unit Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers, Process Technicians and Production Associates.
Assist Sub-contractors with tooling/fixturing/processing issues.
(Provide development and guidance for Toolroom Technicians/Machinists/Intern/Co-op)
Equipment selection, procurement, validation and maintenance.
Assist with Process/Fixture Validations
Establish/Provide and support team goals and objectives.
Supervise Toolroom/Mechanical lab associates when required
Order raw materials and supplies required to operate an effective Toolroom.
Assure compliance with applicable operating procedures, task instructions and FDA/GMP regulations
Excellent interpersonal communications skills, both verbal and written
Excellent Engineering drawing reading/interpretation skills.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to safely operate machine tools (manual & CNC), small power & hand tools, inspection equipment, and common office computer equipment
Demonstrated mechanical and/or electrical problem solving skills
Demonstrated knowledge of proper material selection and processing
Leadership and teamwork skills
Dependable, willing to exert extra effort on time critical projects
10+ years Machining/Fabrication/Assembly/Manufacturing Processes/Fixturing
PC Computers- word processing, spreadsheet analysis, databases, statistical analysis
CAD experience a plus (Pro-Engineer)
Windows 2000 and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)
Applicable Operating Procedures and Task Instruction requirements.
Group Problem Solving (i.e. GAPS/Surefire)
Fixturing Systems/Tool Design
Electrical and Pneumatic fundamentals
Stryker Certified in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
Dimensional Tolerance Analysis/Stack-ups
