Roush?s Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) department is seeking a Senior CFD Analyst to join our team. The Senior CFD Analyst resolves real-world fluid flow and thermal engineering problems. The Senior CFD analyst will build finite volume meshes and prepare solver models in STAR-CCM+ or similar codes for analysis in various CFD applications in the automotive, marine, aerospace, military, and industrial equipment segments. The analyst will communicate simulation results to customers and prepare detailed reports and process documentation.
Develop multi-phase flow CAE methods such as water management CAE methods for open-air, interior washout, and rain ingress in AIS system
Perform CFD analysis using STAR-CCM+ to drive design in all engineering domains
Automate CAE methods using Java and Python
Lead issue resolution identified by the above tasks
Report status to management
Master of Science in engineering, physics or mathematics
Depth in physics related to computational fluid dynamics (CFD), fluid mechanics
Practical experience with STAR-CCM+ and using Java macros solving real-world flow and thermal problems
Minimum 4 years? experience in multi-phase flows such as Lagrangian, particle-laden flows, volume of fluid, and smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH), preferably in the automotive industry
Python certification or demonstrated experience with Python
Proficiency with at least one programming language (Python, Java and/or Linux scripting)
Ability to conform to existing methods while suggesting innovations and process improvements
Must have excellent organizational and planning skills
Must be able to communicate technical information both verbally and in writing
Must be capable of assertive but polite communication while interacting with a variety of personalities
Must possess strong prioritization skills to work in a periodically fast-paced environment
Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, and willing to learn
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
Ph.D. in Engineering with a focus on multi-phase flows
5 years? experience in CFD and simulations for engineering applications
Demonstrable product development experience for any one of the following domains: fluid/thermal systems engineering, physical experimentation, or testing
