Attwood Test Technicians are responsible for conducting mechanical and electrical testing which may involve the use of tensile testers, fatigue cyclers, analytical impact equipment, vibration systems, life testing equipment, material testing, and various environmental testers (uv , ozone, and thermal).

Test technicians require the ability to organize test samples, prepare test set-ups, document all results accurately, and generate timely reports.

Participates in R&R studies, write Test Lab Procedures, ensures that the gauges used are correct for the application with accuracy, calibration due date, and range. DAQ scaling and verification

Able to operate provided field test equipment and generate data. 2% travel may be possible. Participation in outside training.

Education Requirements (special training, college degree, etc.)

Two year Technical Degree OR minimum two years prior lab experience.

Skill Requirements (Technical, Communication, Interpersonal, etc.)

Attwood Test Technicians know how to use Microsoft Office, have some basic knowledge of pneumatics, ability to analyze data, good interpersonal skills, good verbal and written communication skills, strong math skills (statistics), solid presentation skills, solid multitasking skills, and knowledge of various light tools and gauges at a minimum.

Knowledge of electrical motors, basic chemistry background, data acquisition skills (LabView or other), the ability to write simple computer code and / or macros, boating experience, and knowledge of machine control (PLC logic), are additional characteristics that are desired.

Mechanical knowledge or skills to perform test set-ups and modify, repair, and maintain lab equipment.

Test technicians need to be self motivated, able to successfully demonstrate high throughput, pay attention to detail, and follow through their projects to completion.

Work Environment (travel, shift, lifting requirements, hazardous conditions, etc.)

2% travel may be possible. 1st shift, ability to lift or use of material handling to move Attwood product, Clean organized industrial work facility.
