Eaton Corporation Test Systems Engineer in Marshall, Michigan

Eaton’s Vehicle division is currently seeking a Test Systems Engineer to join our team. This position will be based out of our Marshall, MI office.

Position Overview:

The Test Systems Engineer is responsible for partnering with product engineering to understand customer’s requirements and their implications for testing programs.

In this function you will:

  • Develop, execute and document test profiles and procedures

  • Assist in design and build of test fixtures

  • Devise new ways of fixturing parts and improving testing capabilities for better test efficiency

  • Architect, write, and debug CANape/iTest/LabVIEW/Python with an emphasis on generating code that is organized, structured, documented, maintainable and reusable

  • Troubleshoot and debug issues with test equipment

  • Design test methods and use of special equipment is required

  • Perform data analysis of high-speed test data and partner with product engineering to decide next steps, based on analysis

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems and/or Computer/Software Engineering from an accredited institution (received, or pending graduation in December 2020)

  • Minimum of 6 months experience with communication, technical writing, and relationship building

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Marshall, MI will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with mechanical systems

  • Automotive/Vehicle, Aerospace, or Industrial Automation

  • iTest/CANape/LabVIEW data acquisition and controls experience

  • Experience developing and analyzing data acquisition and control systems

  • Familiarity with engineering design and product reliability concepts and tool sets

  • Awareness of international cultures

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage by influence through solid relationships and process focus

  • Ability to effectively present results and recommendations to senior-level executive team.

  • Leverage expertise from other Eaton divisions to continuously improve design standards.
