We are seeking a Principal Scientist for our Bioanalytical Team located in Mattawan, MI.
The Principal Scientist in Laboratory Sciences is responsible for: the development or oversight of the development of methods to quantify chemical entities; developing and verifying compliance to departmental policies and procedures; providing advisory functions to clients designing a program or experiment, dealing with specific dataset interpretation; writing final reports; and answering questions from regulatory authorities. The individual in this role is expected to: be an expert in his/her discipline, providing leadership in efficient and scientifically valid processes and procedures; demonstrate expertise in the use of instrumentation and laboratory techniques; effectively apply their experience and knowledge to lead method development activities; provide scientific expertise to the laboratory staff; and, as needed, function as a Principal Investigator, Study Director, Individual Scientist, or Project Scientist responsible for the development and execution of validation and sample analysis protocols/plans in accordance with company standard operating procedures (SOPs), industry regulatory guidelines (GxP), and budgetary guidelines. A Principle Scientist may be responsible for management of staff.
The following are the minimum requirements related to the Principal Scientist position:
PhD in relevant field and 15+ years of direct applicable experience (preferred); or Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 15+ years of direct applicable experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Demonstrated proficiency using laboratory software applications and LIMS.
Demonstrated expert knowledge of GxPs and industry guidance documents.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization.
Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Computer skills, commensurate with Essential Functions, including the ability to learn a validated system.
Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to evenings, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts; sometimes on short notice.
Ability to work under specific time constraints.
