Summary
This Metallurgical Engineer is responsible for providing materials and systems support as necessary to the computer based Integrated Quality System and metallurgical functions within the divisional quality group. This position will be responsible for applying chemistry and various branches of the engineering sciences to the design, development or operation of processes and equipment used in the production process. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, problem solver who utilizes knowledge and understanding as well as a strong work ethic to ensure all specifications and quality of the production process are met.
Responsibilities
Participate/facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action teams
Develop process routing and raw material selection to achieve end customer specifications
Participate in continuous improvement efforts as identified by analyzing quality-related performance statistics
Responsible for creating material test reports and publishing to internal and external customers
Serve as customer and supplier liaison to assure material application and/or developmental activities are completed
Manage the laboratory equipment. Assure that all equipment is operating satisfactorily and properly maintained.

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing environment that manufactures metals or related materials preferred.
Education
Bachelors in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science Engineering
