Direct Hire opportunity at an Automotive Supplier in Novi.

Supports Manufacturing & Maintenance with Leading the Controls Engineering team related to process control, tooling, assembly equipment, measuring/testing equipment, and purchasing of necessary equipment

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Led the efforts of Control Engineers across (3) shift operations

· Maintain & Develop Process FMEA, PLC Programs and Documentation Systems

· Support Control Engineers & assign priorities for task related to process/quality improvement efforts

· Designs and troubleshoots control systems for tooling, fixtures, and equipment automation

· Develops Engineering procedures and work instructions

· Manage & coordinate IT floor systems, andons & interface with respective department IT needs

· Supports continuous improvement teams with needed analyses

· Develops, specifies and/or purchases machine control systems

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or equivalent experience

· 8-10 years’ experience in industrial, process, or manufacturing engineering

· 3-5 years’ experience Supervision in a manufacturing environment

· 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing assembly and/or machining environment – PREFERRED

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

· Knowledge of CNC & PLC programming and AutoCAD (Allen Bradley PLC w/ motion PREFERRED)

· Knowledge of vision systems (Keyence PREFERRED)

· Knowledge of fastening systems (Atlas-Copco PREFERRED)

· Knowledge of servo presses (Kistler PREFERRED)

· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint; Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Ability to read drawings and use precision measuring devices

· Excellent oral and written & presentation communication skills

· Ability to work in a team environment; Good problem-solving skills

· Willingness to work extended hours as necessary to support production & off shifts
