This individual will work closely with project managers, lead epidemiologists, and lead toxicologists within the Division of Environmental Health to ensure the successful completion of research, surveillance, or evaluation goals.Duties and Responsibilities:and#8226;Work with epidemiologists, toxicologists, and data management staff in designing research, surveillance, and evaluation projects, especially the data strategies and statistical analyses.and#8226;Offer expertise in a wide range of statistical study design options including weighting, survey analysis, longitudinal data analysis, regression modeling, etc.and#8226;Serve as the primary internal resource for planning and resolving issues related to statistical analyses.and#8226;Plan and conduct data entry and coding.and#8226;Organize and maintain large data sets, including data cleaning and documentation.and#8226;Perform data linkages and integration.and#8226;Review data to identify quality issues.and#8226;Using a range of statistical methods, analyze and interpret numeric data from a variety of sources, including surveys, environmental exposure data, administrative datasets, vital records data, registry data, and environmental testing data.and#8226;Perform sample size and power analyses.and#8226;Design and perform sampling methods.and#8226;Communicate with team epidemiologists and toxicologists to assess analytic needs of research, surveillance, and evaluation projects.and#8226;Writes or reviews statistical sections of protocols, prepares analysis plans, data management and retention plans, and writes detailed specifications for analysis files, consistency checks, tables and figures.and#8226;Participate in the development of fact sheets, presentations, reports, manuscripts, and supporting documents, including writing statistical methods and interpretation of findings, and presenting data in tables and figures.Qualifications/Requirements:Education: Master's degree in Biostatistics or another closely related field is required for this position. Candidates with Ph.D. in Biostatistics are preferred.Experience: At least 1 year of professional experience in a related field working on similar duties/tasks.Important Skills and Characteristics:and#8226;Extensive knowledge and experience on a range for statistical analyses, for example sample sizeower calculations, longitudinal and cross-sectional data analysis, and regression modeling, including multilevel modeling.and#8226;Knowledge of research design, epidemiology principles and methods, regulatory requirements, and ethical principles of research.and#8226;Experience in design, development, and maintenance of manual and/or computerized databases.and#8226;Problem solving and critical thinking skills.and#8226;Strong teamwork skills and adaptability.and#8226;Written and oral communications skills.and#8226;Proficiency in utilizing statistical data analysis programs, such as SPSS, R, SAS is required.Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Physical requirements consistent with a standard office environment.
