The production facility in Florence, KY manufactures and administers products for the NAFTA region.
Steering columns & I shafts design engineer, responsible for the design and release of Bosch Automotive Steering products. Additionally, functions as technical/design interface to customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides steering columns and I shafts product support at all levels to OEM engineering & manufacturing facilities
Designs steering columns and I shafts that support customer requirements and specifications following Bosch product development processes.
Develops/maintain/releases math data using CAD packages such as Creo and PDM packages such as TeamCenter.
Develops/maintains/releases drawings/specifications using Bosch Automotive Steering tools (Axalant) and processes.
Develops/maintains/releases bills of material using Bosch Automotive Steering tools (Axalant) and processes.
Develops/maintains components stack up.
Supports product validation activities (DVP&R), calculation and simulation.
Supports DFMEA activities.
Supports problems resolution activities.
Hold design review meetings with suppliers to clarify all technical aspects of purchased components and assemblies.
Hold design review meeting with Bosch industrialization team to insure design manufacturability (DFM activities).
Supports meetings with customers.
Supports continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts
Communicate with Bosch Automotive Steering core Engineering on product direction, design standards & customer requirements
Supports design proposals for new business opportunities outlining Bosch design solutions to customer Requirements
Gains OEM approval of manufacturing deviations as requested by manufacturing facility
Complies with TS16949 and other industry policies and procedures
Leads engineering changes following Bosch processes.
All Other Duties As Assigned
Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or design engineering from a four-year college or university required.
4 - 6 years' of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Basic language skills required. French/German language skills a plus.
Advanced math skills required
Individual must have ability to make independent decisions that may be of a complex nature.
Knowledge and experience working with various CAD software packages. Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software. Must be capable of learning other software packages (Ex: SAP, Axalant, and Test Software).
Proficiency in Creo is a plus.
Working knowledge of Team Center a plus
Other Skills and Abilities:
Proficient GD&T knowledge required.
