Customer Engineer (WD30050275222)Customer EngineerWhat you will doCustomer Engineer reports directly to the Regional Lead Design Engineer. This strategic role works in a team to assure lead acid product line projects to meet customers' requirements in different capacities. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for developing and executing Scope of Work related to design, development, and validation of products. You will prepare detailed plans to track area performance and assure timely completion and achievement of project goals. You will visit customer locations, support team members, provide technical support, and report on progress to the customer, management and other appropriate leadership levels.How you will do itAs a Customer Engineer you will analyze the customer requirements of new and existing designs using DFMEA and risk assessment. You will notify the customer if design changes are occurring to existing designs, work with them to define DVPR and support PPAP data package for customer approval. You will also submit the customer change control documents and engineering documents in their system to properly document the change. For new designs, you will work and manage small teams on engineering builds, document prototype controls plan, and submit lab requests to execute product validations required for OE, OES and AM programroject needs.QualificationsWhat we look forRequired•BS in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Automotive engineering•5years of relevant industry experience•Experience preferred in Automotive, Lead Acid Batteries, and/or Plant Processes•Travel expectation is 35% customer sites and other JCI sites as necessaryPreferred•Master's degree•Design for manufacturability, D-FMEA capability•Applications, products, processes, and materials knowledge•Problem solving tools (KT, 8D, etc.)•Statistical analysis tools (DMAIC, DfSS, Minitab, etc.)•Lead Acid equipment and tool knowledge•Battery/Material Test Equipment KnowledgeWho we areAt Johnson Controls, we're shaping the future to create a world that's safe, comfortable and sustainable.
