TDM Industrial Engineer in Plymouth, Michigan
Create. develop, and implement efficient manufacturing systems. reducing costs while maintaining standards of operations.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborates with senior engineers to design cost-effective manufacturing layouts and building ergonomics for new product
Designs, redesigns, or enhances work areas and layouts so that awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions. and inefficient operations are reduced or
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements. and equipment
Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confining manufacturing
Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future
Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends. Develop operating metrics, analyze and implement root cause
Maintains product and process data base by writing computer programs; entering data.
Develops and maintains management information, planning, and control
Implements methods and modifications to reduce production
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
A Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Engineering with a focus on Manufacturing and Production processes (or equivalent experience)
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
Understanding of ergonomics and motion-time study and calculation
Dealing with Problem solving, root cause analysis, and application of appropriate countermeasures
Design of experiments
Supervision experience or working in a team environment
Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts and methods, value stream mapping, 5S, 6-Sigma greenbelt training
Thorough understanding of ergonomics and applicable industry
MS-Excel and data analysis methods
Strong MS-Office suite including PowerPoint and Word. Creation of process sheets and documentation
AutoCAD plant layout and 3D CAD design
Industry experience in the sheet metal forming, tooling, fabrication, and assembly field
Experience with welding and material joining processes
Knowledge of industrial controls and Comfortable working with industrial automation and learning new systems
Project management experience with capital equipment installations and economics
Basic software coding and Excel macro development experience
Must be able to access and navigate all areas in the facility and access all
ISO9000 and 14001 quality systems

Stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach & grasp, climb, stoop, knlee courch, climb, talk & vision, lift up to 30lbs
