Job Description

Robert Bosch LLC is looking for a Product Owner (PO) for one of agile customer software developments teams for autonomous driving and driver assistance.

The PO is the content authority for the team level. They are responsible for the team backlog, prioritizing and accepting stories, and representing the customer to the Agile team. The PO is responsible for maintaining conceptual and technical integrity of the Features or components the team is responsible for.

The PO has a significant role in quality and is the only team member empowered to accept stories as done.

The role has significant relationships and responsibilities outside the local team, including working with Product Management to prepare for Program Backlog, synchronizing with other PO's and delivering Solution value to the customer.

The product

Robert Bosch is working on the next generation of Vehicle Motion Control (VMC) software/function intended for our future driver assistance and automated driving applications.

Specifically for features like ACC, AEB, Lane Centering and Automated Driving, the software is responsible for the following aspects:

  1. Trajectory planning and motion control

  2. Actuator managment

The responsibilities

  • Work with Lead Product Owner (BOSCH) and OEM Customer to define milestones and priorities for the project

  • Break down the customer milestones to internal VMC milestones for the development and calibration team

  • Act as quality to control to check if the work product meets the definition of done. Demonstrate value add to customer regularly.

  • Primary customer interface for technical and project related queries.

  • Provide technical guidance to the team as needed and be capable of stepping in as a developer if needed.

  • Work with system architects for scalability and performance requirements



  • BS or Higher education in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical or related degree/foreign equivalent.

  • 5+ years of experience with system integration, calibration of vehicles for performance requirements, troubleshooting in vehicles

  • 2+ years of experience leading projects through automotive lifecycles

  • 2+ years of academic or professional experience with embedded control systems.

  • 2+ years of customer interaface experience

  • 2+ years experience with driver assistance sensor technologies or safety critical functions like ABS, TCS and ESP


  • Academic/professional experience with Vehicle Dynamics and Control Theory

  • Experience with agile methods, Atlassian tools and SAFE framework

  • Experience with embedded software development for safety critical automotive systems

  • Good communication skills to discuss issues / solutions with team and external customers

  • Capable to work independently in an organized and structured fashion.

  • Willingness to travel to Germany for a week 2 or 3 times in a year, if needed.

  • Passion for innovation and a hunger for understanding of sophisticated software systems

  • Basic programming skills (C/C++)

  • Exposure to ASCET

  • Good understanding of CAN and commonly used automotive communical protocols

  • Spending 3-6 months in Germany for onboarding will be considerered as a bonus capablity
