Your Role Responsibilities * Participate in department activities to test and develop engines and to help improve testing efficiency.* Instructing and leading test cell and instrumentation technical personnel throughout the engine installation and test commissioning phases of a project* Support as required: specification, set up, maintenance, and calibration of high level test equipment such as combustion analyzers and emissions benches.* Support as required: set up, tune, data collection, cycle writing etc. for dyno control systems.* Data processing and calculation integration into AVL PUMA* Formatting of data and analysis / preparation for presentations* Work closely with customers in addition to internal teams in base engine/vehicle gasoline, diesel, and alt fuel test and development activities* Responsible for the quality of test data results.* Resolve problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts.* Maintain a working knowledge of new technologies that may improve operations, and develop recommendations accordingly* Maintain awareness of the Company Quality System.* Visualize potential weaknesses in capability and adjust.* Work with development engineers and management to continually develop capabilities that match industry needs.* Observe all safety rules and regulations. Must act safely and be responsible for the safety of others around work area.* Employee duties are not limited to those stated above but are inclusive of any tasks assigned by supervisor/manager.Your Skills Strengths * 8+ years experience in automotive test cell equipment automation.* Bachelors or masters degree in engineering or equivalent preferred.* Background in internal combustion engine, powertrain, and electrification theory and operation.* Experience with emissions, fuel measurement, and engine control hardware.* Experience with testing methods, applications, and integration of hardware into test cell environments.* Experience with application and use of AVL test equipment and PUMA software.* Strong software implementation and modification skills* Experience with scripting and execution of custom automated testing routines.* Experience with standardized test cycles and 1065/1066 regulations* Ability to specify and implement test equipment e.g. sizing/specifying heat exchangers, pumps, flow meters, valves, transducers etc* Experience with Implementation and tuning of complex control loops* Ability to work well under pressure and to strict time constraints, as part of a team or individually* Self-motivated with the drive to complete tasks in a timely manner with appropriate attention to detail* Exceptional verbal and written communication skillsIn addition to work in a great team, we encourage you to reach your personal potential and through outstanding learning and development opportunities.
