Pi Innovo Sr. Electronic Hardware Engineer in Plymouth, Michigan

As a Senior Hardware Engineer at Pi Innovo, you will be responsible for delivering custom ECU solutions in a wide variety of applications. The scope of work typically includes the full lifecycle from first customer interaction through system specification, design, implementation, bench/DV/PV testing, and final launch into one of our manufacturing partner facilities. Some of the specific duties and responsibilities would include: ulliPerforming design activities including (but not limited to)ulliRequirements capture/liliSpecification writing/liliCircuit design and analysis/liliComponent selection/liliDFMEA/liliReliability analysis/liliValidation testing/liliTest and engineering report writing, and other documentation/li/ul/liliCoordination within a cross-functional design team, including Hardware, Mechanical, and Software/liliWhere required, liaison with outsourced validation and manufacturing partners/liliEnsuring that designs are executed in accordance with internal and customer qualityrocess requirements to achieve clean product launches/liliProviding significant technical input into proposals in support of new business wins/liliMentoring junior team members as needed on programs/li/ul The skills, knowledge, and abilities Pi looks for in our Senior Hardware Engineers include: ulliA Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or related field (Master’s degree preferred)/liliFive or more years’ experience in the design of vehicle ECUs or related electronics with a strong customer focus and a view of “what’s next” in this market space/liliExperience in vehicle electrification, high-power/high-voltage electronics is highly desirable/liliExperience in the following is helpful:ulliAltium/liliMATLAB/liliSolidWorks/liliC/C++/C#/liliCircuit design (analog, digital, power, microprocessor interface, a/d interface)/liliDesign for EMC/liliDesign validation/liliElectronics manufacturing/liliProduct testing/liliDFMEA/liliWCA/liliFTA/liliFailure analysis/liliDFM/liliDFT/li/ul/liliA demonstrated ability to effectively multitask/liliExcellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills/liliStrong problem solving, analytical, and listening skills (familiarity with 8D or equivalent process highly desirable)/liliThe ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic organization/li/ul We seek motivated, ambitious engineers who genuinely enjoy helping customers come up with solutions to their challenges.
