Organize, schedule, and prioritize Trim development in Plymouth
Provides coordination and prioritization for all trim projects in Plymouth, based on program timing and critical milestones.Works closely with the Trim Managers and Plymouth Trim Principal Engineer to understand and execute on-time deliverables.
Balances the resources among development pool in Plymouth and Mexico, and ensures on-time delivery of pattern development based on work order system.Ensures development consistency is maintained between different build phases of the program by maximizing utilization of same resources through the build phases or by imparting knowledge/LL from the previous phases
Champion development and execution of "Work Order System" between develop pools in Plymouth and Mexico, as well as interfacing with Plymouth Trim Managers and Mexico Technical Lead.Work with BU Chiefs and Directors to resolve schedule conflicts in prioritization.
Responsible for executing trim development to meet PAP timing through clear and detailed tactical plan / Master Timeline.Identifies critical path and required inputs, and provides creative solution to meet challenging timing requirements.
Responsible to schedule sewing of development covers at the sew cell and inventory of standard parts.Trim Engineers / Managers are responsible to procure program-specific raw materials.
Responsible to align expectations regarding scope, deliverables, timing, and budget among Principal Engineer, Trim Managers, and BU Chiefs/Mgrs
Champions product evaluation sample event to assess and align on the quality of completed development including appearance, TPDM completeness, and STO achievement
Ensures high quality delivery (Right First Time) through facilitating all required inputs to the developers on time.Proactively identify and escalate as required to meet timing.
Understands budgets for all the projects and ensure projects are completed within budget through "Right First Time" mindset.Recognizes the need for completeness of the inputs/scope on work order to ensure "Right First Time".
Work with the Principal Trim Engineer to understand the complexity of incoming work to identify appropriate level of resources and required number of hours to keep cost to the work order commitment.
Collaborates with Principal Trim Engineer, Mexico Technical Lead, Trim Managers, and BU Chiefs/Mgrs to establish workflow and RASIC for work order system and associated cost and timing responsibilities
Travel as required to trim cut & sew plants and JIT plants in regionTECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Must possess strong project management skills
Possesses working knowledge of estimating resource needs and timing for various trim development activities
Basic understanding of trim development for seating applications
Data driven to resolve scheduling and priority conflicts
Actively participate in EDR and ELRRADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports all PLUS trim engineering deliverables based on program type (A-E) and program RASIC for trim engineering
Owns scheduling and work allocation for the central trim development pool, aligned with the Trim Principal Engineer
Ability to coordinate with multiple teams to align on scope, timing, and budget
Supports/Escalates to the Trim Principal Engineer, Trim Managers, and program Chief / Directors as soon as road blocks are identified
Promotes and applies all Adient standards and systems (PLUS, Lean, TPDM, Trim DKD, BEP).
Awareness of budgets for relevant programs
Travel to cut & sew plants / Mexico trim eng sites
Trim Principal EngineerEducation Required:
B.S. in Engineering or equivalent, Project management certification is a plusExperience Required:
