RCO Engineering Process Engineer in Pontiac, Michigan
Scope of Work:
The career level process engineer, able to work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision. Skilled in equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for the production of parts. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where creativity and initiative is exercised as well as independent judgment.
Responsible for supporting activities that may include:
SORs and project management for tools, stations or specific technologies.
Typically part of a larger effort or project manufacturing process definition
Sequence of operations
Human factors consideration
Efficient material flow
Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts
Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources
Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology.
Established technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines
Established knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles
Demonstrate high level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and assignments with medium level of autonomy and high accountability for results (may work under the direction of a more seasoned process engineer)
Demonstrated ability in project management skills
Dealership Experience working with vehicle diagnostics. Must be able to work with the on-computer systems within the vehicle to determine and read error codes.
All candidates MUST HAVE a GM Vehicle in order to have access to the secure testing facility.
Candidates will be working within the testing facility performing mechanical and electrical maintenance on the vehicles.
Most of the work would be communicating with plants and administrating a PPCR system
Anytime a manufacturing process change needs to occur a PPCR would need to be developed and communicated to the plant
Secondary part of the day would be attending meetings regarding engineering word orders
Meeting with engineers and discussing the finite details of their requests
Rest of the time will be visiting the plants and learning about the EWOs
Looking for some assembly experience, preferably Engine or Transmission assembly
Seeking entry level/green candidate. 0 years of professional experience is acceptable with the pairing of a Bachelors degree
Basic understanding of engineering
Blueprint reading abilities
Computer skills (Microsoft Office, particularly Excel- intermediate skill level, capable of running filters on data)

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Candidate won’t really be touching electrical engineering in this role, and will be handling minimal industrial engineering
