Aerotek Automation Engineer in PORTAGE, Michigan
Direct Hire Opportunity with a Growing Automation Company!
This person will have a wide range of responsibilities related to processing and packaging systems including: designing, programming and troubleshooting control systems, control panel engineering, PLC programming (Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLCs), HMI application development (PanelView HMI), and start-up support of automated systems.
They will be working onsite at clients so they need to have excellent communication skills and be able to work with people at multiple levels within the organization. They may also be managing contractors (mainly trades people) during the installation of the project.
This person will be working on multiple projects at a time, that vary in size, scope and length. The majority of projects are adding systems to existing equipment, some retrofitting of existing systems and a small amount of new systems.
-5+ years' experience designing, programming, and troubleshooting automated systems
-Proficient in Allen Bradley PLC's
-Vision system experience
-Physically able to do the job: crawl under machines, walk back and forth at a manufacturing plant and climb on ladders to access equipment.
-Up to 20% travel (some local, most in Michigan and some outside of Michigan)
*BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical degree
*Experience with FactoryTalk, Intellution iFix or Wonderware
*Control Panel Design experience
