Responsibilities

  • We are seeking a highly-motivated & organized Mechanical Engineer with 3+ years of large automation turn-key systems with system design and integration experience. The mechanical engineer role requires exceptional listening, communications, and organizational skills to understand the known mechanical engineering requirements and identify unknown requirements from proposal support through final as-built drawing phases.

  • This person is highly flexible and easy to work with through all project changes that are bound to happen.

  • They are also disciplined and creative to ensure all items such as drawings packages, bill of materials, spare parts lists, etc. are delivered on-time.

  • Assist with determining project scope based on customer requirements

  • Travel to customer facility to perform field checks and for engineering reviews

  • Write specifications as required for project

  • Work with purchasing staff to order project materials

  • Determine mechanical, structural, and pneumatic designs based on project requirements

  • Use CAD software to create drawing packages for project designs

  • Create bill of materials for each mechanical assembly

  • Assist quoting staff with determining requirements and costs for potential projects

  • Support shop and field technicians to ensure that equipment is installed correctly

  • Update drawings based on “as built” markups from field personnel

Qualifications

  • 3+ Experience in mechanical, structural, fluid, and pneumatic designs for turn-key robotic automation systems (FANUC, ABB, and/or Kawasaki robots)

  • Proficiency creating 2D drawings using AutoCad

  • Proficiency with 3D modeling using SolidWorks

  • Excellent oral and written communications

  • Willingness to travel occasionally, work in factory environments, and occasionally lift up to 50lbs.

  • Adept at using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

  • Very disciplined, high attention to detail and does not cut corners

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with robotic paint and/or dispense systems

  • Proficiency with 3D modeling using AutoCAD Inventor

  • Experience working on new product developments

  • Extensive design of automation systems using FANUC or ABB robots

  • Knowledge of ISO 9000:2000 principles

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred

  • Associates’ degree and/or equivalent work experience will be considered
