The primary responsibility of system engineer is to lead product development life cycle. Independent contributor with proven skillset in the fields of product development, ECU design release and problem resolution. The following responsibilities are considered essential job functions:
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Primary interface to customers for technical topics:
Gather, analyze and implement product requirements.
Perform gap analysis
Hold technical reviews with internal and external stake holders
Detailed understanding of ISO 26262 standard and previous experience in working on functional safety compliant systems
Hands on approach:
Demonstrated ability to independently work on the vehicle and utilize various problem-solving techniques
Ability to proficiently use CAN tools: CANalizer, CANoe, CANape etc.
Support creation of DV/ PV test plans
Support system level DFMEA creation
Interface with various engineering groups (Mechanical hardware, Electrical hardware, software)
Tackle multiple projects, escalate risks and provide detailed project status overview
Formulate test specifications and acceptance criteria
Estimate effort and meet delivery schedules and quality levels
Support and improve software development tools, processes and their application
Improve and ensure adherence to software development process and quality standards
Performs other duties as assigned
B.S. or M.S. in computer science or electrical engineering or mechanical engineering or equivalent education
Minimum 5 years of experience in design and development within automotive environment
Proficient in Microsoft or Google office tools and time management skills
Technically knowledgeable in two or more programming languages like C, C++,
Competent and experienced in using an integrated development environment (IDE) for software development
Exhibits good team working and communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively in the English language (oral and written)
Ability to problem solve
Ability to travel up to 25% abroad
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Normal working position is sitting, bending stretching, lifting, standing, or walking throughout the facility. The weight can range anywhere from 1 to 40 lbs. infrequently in which proper lifting/moving techniques are required in excess of 40 lbs.
Travel: Domestic and foreign travel may be required and will be dependent on project build phase (Approx. 10%)
