Role Summary
The IE program execution role provides an ‘IE subject matter expert’ to the program execution teams.
The purpose is to support the lead engineers with traditional IE deliverables and also be a liaison between program sites ensuring that common systems are implemented.
Key Responsibilities
• Ability to travel and support global sites
• MTS Development and Plant Communication Event
• Program labor development and tracking using the Global Benchmark Calculator
• Define overall plant material flow
• Cost estimating (IE/LMS Items) for AR development
• Throughput Improvement (TIP) Implementation during launch
• Apply GM Standard Time Data using STDS and pillar chart development
• Overall Workplace design and material presentation
• Support lift assist base designs and lifting package requirements
• Development of minomi base designs and requirements
• Development of kitting and repack requirements
• Development of internal dunnage (in process and finished dunnage)
• Define use of lift tables and dolly requirements
• Push carts and point of use racks
• Initiate SMLBS (GSC labor) - Initial study and final study (2 total)
• Conduct Part Handling Forum Workshop - 3 workshops
Must have skills
2 years of experience in Ergonomics
2 years of experience in TIP - Throughput improvement process
Ability to conduct line balancing activities – 3+ years of experience
Ability to coordinate system simulations and design process buff – 3+ years of experience
Strong knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes
Degree or certifications as an Industrial Engineer - 2 year min or background in Manufacturing
Worksite Description / Work Schedule - Will work onsite at the Romulus location - will travel to meet with suppliers
