Verizon Wireless Equipment Engineer in Southfield, Michigan

What you’ll be doing...

The Control Tower acts as a centralized hub that uses real-time data from the company’s existing data management and transactional systems to integrate processes and tools to drive business. You will lead and coordinate across all network functional teams to manage inventory levels and ensure results meet financial goals and objectives.

  • Managing key activities by working with the market(s) engineering teams to ensure equipment is being purchased and deployed efficiently by: managing PO due dates (when to order), updating inventory status (moving equipment to Excess Available) and utilizing existing inventory (what is left to order).

  • Teaming with Control Tower teams, Supply Chain, and Purchasing to manage processes and engagement practices.

  • Working with the markets to design/update processes, provide guidelines, train on control tower processes, and provide reporting/analytics.

  • Working closely with the engineering groups in the market(s) with the East Territory Network teams including engineering, construction, transport and budget/inventory control.

  • Moderating regular meetings with market departments to review progress to established milestones and project priorities.

  • Providing input on IT solutions (FUZE, CATS, PeopleSoft etc.) to improve the efficiency of the program.

  • Developing and refining processes, reports and tools to improve market productivity across network functional teams.

  • Working on creating a team environment with coworkers within and outside of the team.

  • Working both independently as well as within the team.

  • Assisting the manager in developing reports and presentations.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Telecommunication and wireless project experience.

  • Project management experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.

  • Six or more years of network experience in the wireless industry.

  • Experience as a lead project manager of complex wireless projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams to accomplish results.

  • Ability to professionally and positively interact throughout all levels of the organization.

  • Multimillion dollar budget management experience.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced dynamic results-oriented teamwork environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.

  • Ability to work independently and multitask across various priorities.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with PeopleSoft procurement software, CATs and FUZE.

  • Experience providing oversight of regional network capital assets, procurement activities and asset management.
