What You’ll Do:
Support company efforts to ensure compliance with all EHS program expectations and applicable federal, state and local regulations, and company policies and procedures.
Support and maintain the site EHS Management System (ISO 14001 & ISO 45001) program and registrations.
Gather and analyze data, then use it to develop recommendations and educate employees on specific EHS matters.
Collect, manage and report EHS data for periodic EHS regulatory documents and metrics.
Maintain EHS management system (ISO 14001 & ISO 45001) documents, internal audits, and related processes and program elements
Support EHS risk assessments related to jobs performed by employees, and develop and recommend risk mitigation strategies
Take samples and measurements for Industrial Hygiene purposes and reporting results and recommendations
Support and assist others (managers, employees, etc.) to complete their safety and compliance responsibilities (audits, follow safety rules, etc.)
Support EHS compliance inspections and audits, enforce EHS policies and regulations, and ensure corrective actions are monitored and documented
Support waste management and disposal activities and ensure compliance with applicable RCRA and DOT requirements
Assist with completing and documenting all regulatory compliance activities through the EHS Calendar according to regulatory deadlines
Complete, document and submit required EHS reports and recordkeeping information as necessary
Maintain SHC environmental permits
Perform Contractor / Service Provider Safety Briefings (EHSI C-9)
Support the investigation of incidents including HAZMAT spills/releases, employee injuries and near-miss incidents.
Monitor closure of effective corrective / preventive actions, as assigned
Review SDS for new materials for approval for use within GDLS (EHSI I-03)
Support state and federal agencies such as State Environmental agencies, EPA (MI-EGLE, GLWA), OSHA (MIOSHA), NRC, DOT inspections and information requests
Support respirator fit tests (EHSI E-03)
Develop, deliver and support EHS / Safety Talks and campaigns
Perform other EHS-related duties, as assigned
Perform studies to monitor and assess employees' exposure to health risks, and to measure effectiveness of occupational health programs, policies and procedures
Maintain current knowledge of environmental, occupational health and safety and material transportation legislation.

The EHS Representative is a task driven position, This means the position is dedicated to fulfilling the tasks required of the EHS Department, For example: Timely completion of tasks that align with GDLS goals; implements reliable, effective metrics to measure outcomes; models accountability; thinks of innovative ways to spread awareness of Company and EHS Policies and best practices.

Most work is performed in an office environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk 25% of the time, stand 25% of the time and sit 50% of the time.
In the course of on-site work and during facility visits, employee will be working around military vehicles, powered industrial trucks and hazardous waste.
The employee may occasionally be required to lift and or carry up to 25 lbs.
Employee will use computer, phone, copier and other office equipment in the course of a day.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, touch and use tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, bend, stoop, twist, lift, reach, push, pull, grasp, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, grasp, talk, hear, and walk during the course of employment.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and an ability to adjust focus
What You’ll Need:
Be familiar with and support SARA Title III reporting requirements
Be familiar with OSHA Fall Protection requirements and support the company, program compliance activities.
Be familiar with Michigan Industrial Stormwater Management requirements and certifications; Ability to achieve Stormwater Operator certificate
Position may require travel to other company CONUS locations.

The EHS Representative requires the ability to communicate and share the tone for safety at the company.
Exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time, this may include warm, hot or cold temperatures.
The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
Proficient knowledge of relevant laws, policies and procedures including CAA, RCRA, CWA and other related laws and regulations.
RCRA and DOT Training certificates
Strong communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with and work well with others in order to manage projects, meetings, etc.
Strong organizational skills with a high consideration to detail and the ability to work independently as well as in a group environment.
Must be able to be entrusted with confidential information.
Familiar working with various office equipment, computers and various programs including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, cloud-based systems, networking, and e-mail programs.
Ability to detect and solve problems effectively.
Ability to work effectively even under pressure.
Expert time management skills
Must be able to satisfy company Military Vehicle Safe Work Requirements criteria including Anthropometric Size Restrictions (ASR) for vehicle entry.
Position may require travel to other GDLS CONUS locations.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or certification in an EHS related filed combined with 10 + years of relevant work experience.
