Hyundai America Technical Center Inc (HATCI) is looking for a electrified powertrain calibration engineer at our Superior Township, Mi location who will:SummaryDevelop Emission / OBD Controls Calibration Strategies for a complete Electrified Powertrain System application. (HEV, PHEV)ulliUnderstands the Exhaust Evap Emissions Legal Requirements for mass production application (CARB, EPA)/liliVerifies Electrified Powertrain System functionality assessing its ability to meet Emissions, Fuel Economy Driveability requirements/liliCalibrates Electrified Powertrain System Functions for mass production applications ensuring:/li/ul- Compliance to the Emissions / OBD Regulation- Robustness against Component Environmental Conditions expected variationsEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesulliInterpret Analyze Electrified Powertrain Control Systems Logic OBD Logic./liliVerify proper operation of Basic Electrified Powertrain System Control Algorithms Software/liliCalibrate Basic Electrified Powertrain functions verify its effectiveness in a variety of Ambient Conditions Component variation/li/ul- Hot Cold and High Low Altitudes, within the Compliance ranges- Limit Parts ToleranceulliAbility to apply Statistical tools when appropriate for better data analysis/liliAssist in the investigation of eventual issues at the Manufacturing Plants/liliAssist in the analysis of field issues. Propose suitable solutions when appropriate / necessary/liliCreate and present technical reports documenting the work/liliSupport CARB (EPA) Technical reviews/li/ul- Prepare necessary documentationulliSupport departmental projects as assigned./liliTravel Domestically Internationally as necessary/li/ulQualifications and Requirements ulliBasic Knowledge of Automotive Industry engineering and manufacturing/liliBasic Knowledge of Vehicle Emissions / OBD Regulations/liliBasic knowledge of Electrification Vehicle Control Systems/liliBasic Knowledge about the Fundaments of the Internal Combustion Engines (Plug-In) Hybrid Electric Vehicle/liliBasic Knowledge of OBD Monitor Systems/liliDemonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality/liliDemonstrated integrity and ethical behavior/li/ul Education and ExperienceulliBachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Physics/lili1 3 years' experience Electrified Powertrain Vehicle Emission / OBD Calibration/liliValid Driver's License/liliSome Experience with culturally diverse team environment/li/ul Required SkillsulliAbility to post process data, compiling and extracting information of interest from data files/liliUnderstanding of Internal Combustion Engines operation/liliProficient in MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; MS Internet Explorer/liliBase Understanding of Engine monitoring software; ETAS Inca; MDA/liliAbility to travel domestic and internally./liliAbility to work in extreme climate environments.
