Hyundai Kia America Technical Center Inc. (HATCI) is looking for a Safety Crashworthiness Engineer who will:Primary Responsibilities (but not limited to)ulliPerform structural crashworthiness and occupant safety analysis using LS-DYNA and MADYMO/liliExecute occupant safety simulations with dummy and human body models and evaluate occupant injury performance/liliUse FE analysis to guide physical tests plan; develop test matrix and correlate test results with simulation results/liliWork closely with crash test engineer and support following activitiesulliType : Full vehicle, system, sled, and component level evaluations/liliPre-test : Develop test plan/set-up, attend, and conduct test/liliPost-test : Test data analysis, teardowns/inspection, and reporting/liliCollaborate with other engineering teams to develop designs / design changes to meet Safety and Crashworthiness targets (eg. NHTSA FMVSS standards; NCAP and IIHS test requirements)/liliCollaborate with body structures and restraint team in developing optimized designs/liliCreate technical reports per HATCI guidelines and present to all collaborating teams as needed/liliTravel up to 10% of the time domestically and internationally/li/ul/li/ulspanExperience and Skills/spanulliStrong knowledge in automotive structure, crashworthiness, and safety/liliHighly skilled in hands-on CAE use, and crash safety analysis/liliStrong analytical skills to make meaningful conclusions from CAE simulations as well as physical tests/liliIn-depth understanding of LS-Dyna explicit solver / material models / element formulationulliStrong knowledge of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS), NCAP, and IIHS safety evaluations/liliExperience using test data analysis tools is ideal (DIAdem, Hyperworks, Excel etc)/liliKnowledge of testing, test equipment, and processes necessary to meet vehicle requirements and its CAE representation/liliDemonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, demonstrate integrity, and ethical behavior/li/ul/li/ul spanMinimum Requirements:/spanulliBachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering./lili5+ years' experience in automotive industry/liliKnowledge of software tools/liliDemonstrated ability to work independently and with others./liliExcellent Communication Skills./liliStrong Analytical skills./liliProficient skills in MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook/liliProficient time management and organization skills/liliValid Drivers License and Satisfactory Driving Record/liliCandidates applying for positions with Hyundai KIA must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
