Kelly Services Electrical Engineer in Taylor, Michigan
Kelly Engineering Resources is hiring an Electrical Engineer for a 6-12-month+ contract opportunity . In this role, you will work in a new product development capacity for IoT and Connected Home . As part of a small R&D team, you will be an individual contributor on projects, in varying phases of completion, from concept, hardware and/or software development, prototype build & test as well as supporting product launch.
Support multi-discipline teams in development of innovative products.
Evaluate new technologies that have application in the areas of IoT and Connected Home.
Create embedded design files, including schematics, PCB layouts, and source code.
Assist in the preparation of design documentation, including specifications, system diagrams, and test plans.
Hardware & software configuration, test and debug
Work with multi-functional teams, such as materials lab and chemistry lab, to design and build automated test equipment and data acquisition systems.
Perform various hands-on tasks pairing electronics with mechanical systems.
Set and meet short term project goals in order to adhere to project deadlines.
Prioritize and focus on project deliverables
Experience and Qualifications of the Successful Candidate
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, both written and verbal
Self-starter - must have a strong sense of urgency and able to work effectively alone or in teams to meet project timelines.
Ability to handle diverse projects in various stages of completion, concurrently.
Demonstrated ability to drive for results
Ability to think analytically, creatively, and independently
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of:
Digital and analog electronic circuit concepts
C programming language
Communication protocols such as RS232, SPI, and I2C
Familiarity with test and measurement equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, etc.)
Prefer 2+ Years' Experience in the following areas:
PCB Layout with Altium Designer
Firmware development using MPLAB and IAR or SEGGER
Familiarity with Bluetooth and/or other IoT protocols
Hand Soldering (Through Hole and SMT)
Mechanically inclined - capable of using hand/power tools to fabricate and assemble simple test fixtures and prototype enclosures
