This position reports to the Director of Global EV Powertrain and is responsible for Meritor Electric Vehicles (MEV) Applications Engineering, Systems Engineering and customer support activities related to Meritor Blue Horizon Integrated ePowertrains, power electronics and electric vehicle subsystems. The individual will lead a team of managers/supervisors and engineers to interface with customers, suppliers, test labs, production manufacturing facilities, and several internal engineering groups (Advanced Eng., components Eng., axles, brakes, analytical mechanics, materials engineering, etc.) to initiate, plan and execute technical programs associated with Electrification product development and industrialization as well as sustaining engineering and cost reduction implementation.Job Responsibilities:Lead the MEV applications engineering team to develop and implement application guidelines and analysis tools.Ensure timely completion of customer application approval requests including Powertrain performance and durability.Manage engineers and designers to release Electric Powertrain designs using Windchill PLM system.Manage MEV customer support engineers to release Meritor products in the customers systems as well as to provide on-site support at the customers sitesSupport MEV product planning to gather product requirements and technical specifications to inform internal programs in accordance with customer needs and product roadmap.Manage MEV systems engineering team to support vehicle integration of Meritor Blue Horizon Integrated ePowertrain in the customer vehicle platformsInvestigate and implement technical cost saving opportunities aligned with business unit product cost reduction roadmapSupport purchasing and manufacturing to define and implement non-technical cost reduction initiativesSupport MEV change Management Process, to review, approve and promote Change Requests (CR) and Engineering Change Notices (ECN) issued on regular basis according to the business unit objectives and priorities.Represent Meritor at professional engineering and customer events and organizations such as SAE or similar.Provide leadership and mentoring for less experienced engineering staff.Develop cost estimates and track department expenses according to budgetSupport sales and MEV Business Development initiatives by interfacing with customer engineering organization to evaluate Meritor ePowertrain in a wide range of applications and vehicle configurationsEqual Opportunity Employerndash;minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identityBS Engineering (ME, IE or EE), RequiredMasters degree in Engineering, RequiredMasters degree in Manufacturing or Operations, Preferred5-10 years of direct practical experience including:Electric Powertrain Systems Engineering, RequiredVehicle dynamics and powertrain applications analysis, RequiredElectric Vehicle integration and packaging know-how, RequiredElectrical and Controls Vehicle Engineering, RequiredManagement experience (directly managing people), RequiredAutomotive Product and Quality Process (APQP) stage gate knowledge, PreferredMedium and Heavy duty commercial vehicles market, PreferredManufacturing and Supply base knowledge, PreferredStrong teamwork and ability to interact with all levels and global regions of the organization, RequiredEffective oral and written communication skills including presentation creation and ability to communicate to all levels of the organization, RequiredWillingness to travel up to 20% based on customer needs, Required
