This is a great opportunity to join our team that is seeking a like-minded person to design the mechanical components for electronic enclosures (antennas) in vehicles. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING... As a member of our North American Engineering Group of our Automotive Division, the Mechanical Engineer will design components, subassemblies, and assemblies for new antenna and wireless products. These components will include die casting or stamped baseplates, injection molded plastic covers, stamped components, strain reliefs, grommets, seals, and fasteners. This person will select materials, create solid models of components and assemblies, perform tolerance stack ups, create check drawings, release drawings, and organize oversee environmental validation testing. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, a typical day may include: * Design electronics enclosures as per customer/sales specifications * Prepare DFMEA and perform FEA stress analysis as needed * Prepare stp, dfx, and pdf files for use in 2D/3D prototype systems * Secure prototypes and develop production tooling * Develop DVPR. Initiate and supervise validation testing with support from RF/EEs * Organize design data including imported data, solid models, drawings, and files sent to customers Click here for Life At TE WHAT YOUR BACKGROUND SHOULD LOOK LIKE... * BS Mechanical Engineering * 8+ years experience designing components, subassemblies, and assemblies for mass production using die casting, injection molding, stamping, die cutting and screw machine processes * Excellent GDT skills…very tight tolerancing * Working knowledge of DFMEA * Experience specifying materials platings for castings stamped sheet metal; plastic materials for injection molding; fasteners including screws adhesive products * Experience with NX, Catia, Creo, IDEAs, etc. * Experience in automotive OEM and/or SAE J1455 environmental validation testing Nice to have… * Experience designing assemblies with cable entrances that require water sealing to IP67 * Experience designing corrosion-resistant parts for marine applications * Experience designing injection molded parts with threads and living hinges What TE Connectivity offers… We offer competitive total rewards compensation.
