Aerotek Sr. Design Engineer in Troy, Michigan
EASi is hiring for a Sr. Design Engineer in our Troy, MI location.Description:
Role and Essential Functions:
Experience in automotive systems and proficient in component and system designs.
Experience of EV/AV vehicle design a plus.
Develop design specs, proposals/concepts from project inputs with sound engineering judgement.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes - casting process, stamping, injection molding, operations like tuning, milling, drilling
Sheet metal, casting and plastic modeling experience. Apply knowledge of plastic part design and injection-molding to design concepts
Advanced surfacing skills
Support engineering Bill of Material.
Support design team in developing 3D CAD models,2D drawings, GD&T, Parametric modeling, Tolerance stack up( a plus).
Ensure the deliverables are developed in accordance with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements.
Identification and resolution of design related issues during development.
Project coordination with customer and offshore team for quality and on time delivery.
Experience with applying tools such as DFA, DFM, DFMEA to identify and address areas of design risk.
Coordinate overall development activities and counterparts for improving product performance
Develop guidelines and best practices based on past experience to improve processes and/or methodologies
Supervises, trains and develops junior/intermediate designers (Project Engineers)
Good communication skills, flexible and working in team environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
7+ years of experience as a Mechanical Designer
-Optional : Solidworks, Catia, Teamcenter, PDM/PLM experience
