uJob Summary/u:Conducts analytical structural and forming studies through FEA techniques on automotive components and systems.uEssential Duties/u:mdash; Interpret and follow project guidelines with minimal follow-up or additional resources needed to complete tasksmdash; Run multiple simulation projects correctly and efficiently to meet all program timelinesmdash; Actively work on developing new processes, procedures, and methods for analysismdash; Provide further development of calculation methods, in particular the definition of substitute load cases or replacement modelsmdash; Use computer FEA software and equipment (i.e. Ansa/Hypermesh, Nastran, LS-Dyna, Abaqus, nCode, FEMFAT, and optimization-DOEost-processing tools) to perform engineering simulationsmdash; Ensure model and post-processing are completed in accordance with quality requirements, customer specifications, and standardsmdash; Work with cross-functional teams to support the design, test, and structural development of components and systems by applying root-cause analysis and countermeasure proposals for issues identified during product development and testing phasesmdash; Correlate experimental data to simulation datamdash; Analyze FEA results and proposed product changes to determine feasibility or potential improvement of components and systems to initiate optimization within the projectmdash; Write technical reports to explain the FE results and provide recommendations to improve overall designmdash; Perform additional duties as assignedmdash; Act with honesty and integrity, and make ethical business choicesuEducation / Experience/u:mdash; Required: Bachelorrsquo;s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study mdash; Preferred: Masterrsquo;s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of studymdash; 3+ years of related experience (required)mdash; 5+ years of related experience (preferred)mdash; 3 to 5 years minimum in CAE on Automotive engineering with experience in Chassis and BIW commoditiesuOther Skills/Experience (Required)/u:mdash; Knowledge of FE software such as Ansa/Hypermesh, Nastran, Abaqus, Optistruct, Heeds, LS Dyna, nCode, FEMFAT, optimization tools, and post-processing toolsmdash; Able to perform linear, non-linear, and dynamic simulationsmdash; Knowledge of structural requirements for durability, NVH, and crashworthinessmdash; Strong theory knowledge in solid mechanics, strength of materials, and dynamicsuOther Skills/Experience (Preferred)/u:mdash; Process and manufacturing knowledge covering forming, joining, and assemblymdash; Experience in developing BIW, closures, and chassis componentsmdash; Experience working with TeamCenter PLMmdash; Strong knowledge of FE software's Ansa, Nastran, Abaqus, Optistruct, Lsdyna, nCode, Optimization tools such Hyperstudy, Heedsmdash; Perform multiple simulation projects in parallel that involve Durability, NVH, Nonlinear and dynamic analysismdash; Build relationships with the Product Development test teams and the customermdash; Effective communication Skills
