Support AIL operations through training, machine support, and employee mentoring to expand the level of Additive Design and Manufacturing adoption at General Motors. Learn, develop, and teach Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) principles and techniques to the GM Engineering workforce.RESPONSIBILITIES* Provide design support to the functional teams implementing additive part and tooling projects.* Provide training sessions on the operation and use of multiple Additive Manufacturing machines and technologies.* Operate and provide basic maintenance on in house Additive Manufacturing equipment* Support development and implementation of additive manufacturing within BOM (bill of material) row strategies, pre-production vehicle builds, and serial production executions.* Support additive design and manufacturing corporate strategy development and execution* Utilize build software like Materialize Magics, Autodesk Netfabb, Siemens NX to prepare Additive builds for printing* Educate the organization on Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) concepts through training development and delivery* Monitor market for competitive intelligence and for new and emerging additive technologiesAdditional Job DescriptionRequired:* Bachelors Degree* 2+ years Engineering Design and/or Analysis experience* Knowledge and experience working with multiple additive design & manufacturing processes and materials* Comfortable teaching Additive Manufacturing concepts and machine operation.* Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others* Experience working with cross functional teams to complete projects* Experience working in an advanced development environment and able to deal with ambiguityPreferred:* Bachelor of Science in Engineering* 4+ years of industry or academic experience working in additive design & manufacturing* Previous Automotive Design experience.* Previous additive manufacturing DfAM experience* DFSS Black Belt CertificationBenefits OverviewThe goal of the General Motors total rewards program is to support the health and well-being of you and your family.
