The Validation Engineer will be responsible for leading the software and hardware validation of electric power components such as Generators, Batteries, DCAC inverters, DCDC converters among other components. You will work closely with our supply base as well as internal specialists to define, monitor and report the results of test plans on all GM North American programs.Scope of Responsibilities:* Lead the develop of validation plans and schedules* Work with internal environmental and software subject matter experts to create and monitor test plans.* Analyzes and interprets test data against pass/fail criteria* Reports test plan status to leadership* Documents test failures* Participate in root cause analysis and problem solving activities with our design partners.* Participates in closed loop lessons learned activities* Participates in annual DFSS or similar projects to improve validation process efficiencyAdditional Job DescriptionRequired experience:* Bachelors of Science in Engineering (Electrical Engineering or Computer Science)* Applicants should have relevant industry experience and specific experience in the design or validation of Electric Power components including both software and hardware.* 10+ years of engineering work experience* 5+ years of experience in the areas of Electric Power Management Components, DC/DC Converters, DC/AC Inverters. and associated technical procedures and processes.Preferred Experience* Exercises independent judgment in leading complex and ambiguous tasks with minimal guidance from supervisor* High level of oral and written communication skills* Experienced in creating/adjusting calibration files* Experienced in using Vehicle Spy/NEO Vi Fire tools* High level of organizational skills - Able to manage numerous projects across multiple programs.* High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with othersBenefits OverviewThe goal of the General Motors total rewards program is to support the health and well-being of you and your family.
