Job Description: Lead Development and Execution of Electrical Processing Tools and Equipment with a focus on In-Process Testers
Define and maintain common requirements (BOE) for Electrical Processing Tools and Equipment
Develop and maintain T&E Bulletins and Process Control Plans for Electrical Processing Tools and Equipment
Strengthen In-Process Test Systems validation strategy within the GVDP milestone phases
Support innovation or new technology development with Advanced Technology (ATW) and New Technology related to electrical systems
Benchmark electrical processing tools and equipment solutions internal and external for innovation and improvements
Support and mentor Execution Zone Engineers and Plant Electrical Coordinators for In-Process Test execution
Perform in-plant and remote troubleshooting of equipment issues, as required.
Provide ongoing and new program execution support at PPO and applicable Assembly Plants
Closely coordinate with software team to prepare for new products and standards creation
Work with PPO to define equipment strategy for pre-production processing needs
Update and maintain standardized work and training related to Electrical Processing Tools and Equipment
Maintain tool and equipment read across for tracking BOE compliance and recommending updates when required.
Drive In-Process Test Strategy that reduces Electrical First Time Quality (eFTQ) at End of Line (EOL) Test Locations
Work closely with Strategic Supplier to continuously improve equipment design development, build and validation requirements
Implement continuous improvement ideas generated by plant teams where applicable
Support the Electrical Processing Expert Team
Support Integration Architect with tool and/or processing solutions for electrical RPLS risk reduction
Work with CME and Processing Teams for BOP updates for Electrical Processing Tools and Equipment
Create and maintain Process Manufacturing Requirements
Support development of Product Manufacturing Requirements for Electrical Processing Tools and Equipment
Support Commodity Manager activities – Safety Contract Management, MPS responses, maintaining cost book, etc.
Required Skills, Abilities and Experiences:
Experience with GM vehicle electrical architectures and/or sub-systems
Experience with design, build, validation and installation tool and equipment development cycle
Manufacturing or Manufacturing Engineering Launch experience
High level of project management experience
High level of analytical abilities to solve complex problems
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal and team building skills
Ability to translate complex issues into summaries for non-technical people
Excellent abilities/skills with Microsoft Office Applications
Preferred Skills, Abilities and Experiences:
Experience in manufacturing, manufacturing engineering or tooling development
Vehicle assembly process experience
Knowledge of vehicle serial communication protocols
PC hardware and software knowledge including cyber security skills
Microsoft Excel Macros and Pivot tables
Familiar with MEVS Assembly Verification Group (AVG) test environments
Knowledge of Plant Floor IT systems
Red X, DFSS or OpEx training
Electrical Process Commodity Manager
Assembly Plant Electrical Coordinator and Plant Maintenance Team
Program Launch Team
Assembly Verification Integration and Development Engineers

- 4-year degree in Electrical related field or equivalent experience in automotive process and tooling
Special Notes: (travel, flexible hours, relocation etc.)
- Travel required for supporting plant issues, innovation development etc.
