Kforce has a Metro Detroit, MI automotive client seeking 4 Electrical Wiring Technicians for long-term, renewable contract positions.Description:The AVI Electrical Development Technician provides electrical build, programming and test support for vehicle properties that are typically in the early phases of the advanced development process. Responsibilities:

  • Build, integration and servicing of newly designed autonomous vehicle systems

  • Modification of production and prototype body, powertrain and chassis control systems

  • Design, build and integration of special control circuit modules for advanced vehicle projects

  • New sub-system installations, for new technologies

  • Troubleshooting electrical issues for automated advanced driving systems

  • Manage the day to day operations of the AVI Sensor Lab

  • Working with engineers to develop and test radar systems and other autonomous vehicle sensors

  • Completes assignments according to work requests, on-time, with highest quality

  • Collaborate with others and work effectively in a team environment

  • Adheres to all AVI Shop Safety standards

  • Actively participates in GMS, WPO and SOT initiatives

  • Creates accurate, complete test documentation associated with task execution

  • Perform physical tasks common to the position

  • Maintains good housekeeping and safe workplace standards

  • Associate degree or equivalent in a related field, equivalent military or other work experience in the given field will be considered

  • 3 years' experience working vehicle electrical or mechanical component testing

  • Strong understanding of basic electrical principals

  • Ability to read vehicle electrical schematics

  • Knowledge of the different automotive connectors, terminals, and locks

  • Working knowledge of testing methods and procedures

  • Experience with PC driven test equipment and systems

  • Experience or knowledge of relevant testing software tools (Mat lab / LabVIEW)

  • Knowledge or ability to use the MDI system

  • Knowledge or ability to use NEOVI Fire 2 system

  • Operation of shop fabrication equipment (drill press, saws, bridge-port)

  • Soldering skills (board level, connectors and harness)

  • Fabrication of high voltage cables and connections (crimping)

  • Experience with Powertrain Electronics

  • Experience with test documentation, reports, plots, photograph and videos

  • Problem solving and ability to perform root cause analysis

  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills

  • Proficient computer skills e.g., MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, Outlook, Team Center/ Vis Mock up and U/G
