Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized experience for an Engineering Technician (Mechanical), DE-0802-03 position: One year of specialized experience in the Federal service equivalent to the DE-02 pay band or GS-11 grade level which includes: 1) Experience developing configuration management on combat platforms; 2) Experience providing corrective actions for configuration errors; 3) Experience applying knowledge of engineering methodologies and cost estimating to establish technical policies/manuals; and 4) Experience leading a project that covers multiple work sites. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
