Tyson Foods FSQA Technician Lead - Full Time - Warren, MI 48091 in Warren, Michigan

This position starts at $22.13/hr . We have open position for first shift.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The basic function of a Lead FSQA Technician is to perform a variety of testing of food products and/or ingredients, perform internal audits and support the FSQA Team and Plant Management as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine duties requiring minimal supervision which support the activities of Food Safety & Quality Assurance and Operations Teams. This is done through internal auditing to Tyson standards as well as our third-party auditor’s criteria.

  • Perform data collection and analyses for use in reports for in-plant and corporate needs.

  • Work with the Production Team to identify sources of problems in processing.

  • Log-in and prepare samples for distribution to outside labs for testing

  • Conduct training of new lab technicians; act as a liaison between FSQA Manager and the FSQA Techs; maintain program for and ensure Tyson Policies and Procedures are followed

  • Coordinate with FSQA and Production to input data into the PlantView and SAP systems

  • Oversee quality control documentation

  • Provide input to FSQA Manager regarding lab technician performance at yearly review

  • Perform other routine and/or non-routine nature as required by the QA Manager.

  • Must function independently and follow procedures precisely and accurately; able to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing; able to work safely; able to bend, stoop and lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in the sciences preferred.

  • Experience: Commercial food production experience would benefit.

  • Computer Skills: Requires standard computer skills. For example, generating Excel spreadsheets or Word documents developing templates for use by other employees; utilize devices for data input and extraction, (PlantView) and materials inventory and HOLDs (SAP). Other programs in Tyson’s system may be used.

  • Special Skills: 5 Cs: Caring, Candor, Creativity, Collaboration and Commitment.

  • Must function independently and follow procedures precisely and accurately

  • Able to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing

  • Able to work safely; able to bend, stoop and lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

Travel: Possible, for training and career development.
