And we are proud to support our employees volunteer interests, and make it a priority to join together in efforts that give back to our communities.Job DescriptionOverviewDevelop plans and lead Benchmark Engineering activities for Transmission and Electrified Propulsion Systems driving innovative, disruptive technologies at lowest possible cost and mass, based on competitive benchmark learnings, into AVD vehicle programs. Develop and utilize competitive component and/or system benchmark analysis including to recommend innovative, disruptive robust cost solutions. Articulate competitive technology, lower cost or lower mass features to AVD and product Program Teams. Drive cost effective decisions to support appropriate product program balance including technology, financial and mass targets. This position requires strong leadership skills and project aptitude, involving a high level of independent judgment, initiative, creativity, and project aptitude.Key Responsibilities:* Schedule and conduct technical/design/cost gap closure plan activities as required by program requirements or requested by Program Manager/Chief Engineer* Work with product team leadership to develop and maintain benchmark plan with timing to appropriately support program technical and cost objectives for assigned programs* Support Gate and other Leadership reviews with Benchmark information pertinent to program execution* Participate and support design reviews, PPDRs, performance and product cost discussions* Work cooperatively with the product team to determine program-specific requirements* Request cost studies from Cost Engineering as needed to support product content balancing discussions* Coordinate with Local and Global counterparts* Manage and balance Benchmark Engineering resources to meet product requirements, walk-up work, and capability development. Negotiate timing for benchmark projects as necessary* Support the development of budget and headcount targets with workload projections, and support creation/update of ESW as neededAdditional Job DescriptionRequirements* Bachelor's degree with a major in engineering, or equivalent work experience.* Minimum 5 years of experience Product Development and Product Design and Release experience* Ability to prioritize projects within time constraints.* Adept at working with a complex bill of materials.* Ability to network and collaborate cross-functionally to enhance cost knowledge.* Demonstrated problem solving and analytical abilities where problems are complex.* Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork and partnerships.* Strong
