You will part of a dynamic team leveraging advanced technologies to create next generation designs that will ultimately deliver industry leading vehicles. From concept to production, the component designer infuses BOLD creativity with rigorous design and thoughtful solutions. We create and implement ideas while being laser focused on always aiming for a higher quality standard.The Interior Component Designer -will work toward world-class quality execution of innovative interior production components and concepts. Integrates customer focused needs and brand differentiation into all aesthetic proposals. Directs, administers and coordinates the overall component work within the production design studio environment. This work is of a highly technical nature. A high level of independent judgment is a must. Creativity and self-initiation is needed to make proposals balancing design, modeling and engineering inputs. This position will be instrumental in creating branded component excellence, through the vehicle design process. This position needs to be highly collaborative; working with production interior team and engineering partners to created beautiful branded component solutions. Stays abreast of design trends, technology, production methods, materials and supply-base.The role:* Creation and communication of bold design ideas through sketches and renderings* Developing two and three-dimensional mock-ups of proposed design solutions* Working with studio engineers, modelers, other designers and fabrication personnel in the development of new design ideas* Staying current with design trends * Strategic thinking - ability to deal with big picture problems and set up compelling and creative solutions* Presenting new thoughts and designs both verbally and visually* Ability to work and collaborate with others outside the work group* Understanding program timelines and is proactive regarding task completion*Key Qualifications:* Previous design experience with component / UX design-related focus (steering wheels, shifters, clusters, screens etc)* Strong understanding of form* Excellent drawing and graphic skills* Demonstrated creative proficiency with supporting portfolio* Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others* Good oral and written communication skills* Contributes to creative and aesthetic design solutions* Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with other* Excellent analytical and strategic ability where problems are somewhat complexbr
