General Motors Program Manager - Advanced Infotainment - ENG0039602 in Warren, Michigan

General Purpose of Position

In this role you will lead the advanced development of Infotainment commodities for General Motors programs across the globe. You will collaborate between innovation, systems and component execution teams to support delivery of complete Infotainment solutions. Help define Infotainment Systems for the future!

Major Duties/Responsibilities

  • Stay abreast of new technology and competitive products
  • Work with Infotainment, Systems Engineering, and Global Connected Customer Experience teams, to establish alignment on goals
  • Lead communication, coordination and consultation with engineering departments and customers
  • Create and balance Infotainment strategies across programs
  • Manage multiple commodities / vehicle programs simultaneously
  • Create and approve Component Technical Specifications (CTS) & Statement of Requirements (SOR) and support sourcing activities
  • Organize & participate in requirements peer reviews
  • Represent and defend Infotainment System Performance Requirements and Infotainment System Strategy at program specific meetings such as CIT’s, POPS, VAPIR
  • Represent GM in vendor and/or customer contacts

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
  • 5-7 years of experience required.
  • Green Belt DFSS Certification
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with local and global team members to solve problems and resolve issues
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results
  • Knowledge & understanding of: Electrical commodity product development (eg. IPC/Switch/ECU); Infotainment or Electrical Systems; OR Interior Component Product Development.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic circuit operation and automotive hardware interfaces
  • Knowledge of Vehicle Development Process timing and key engineering milestones
  • Previous experience in Product Development (Example: Systems Engineering, Safety System Eng, Validation, Quality, SQE, Design, Release Eng, or Manufacturing Eng, etc.)
  • Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of following GM systems/databases: CRDN, GM Timing Card, PPCs, SharePoint Hands on experience with IBM Rational Synergy and DOORS
  • Hands on experience with IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC)
  • Understanding of industry standards including Autosar, CAN, LIN, and automotive ethernet
  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • Black Belt DFSS Certification
