KBR Quality Test Engineer in Warren, Michigan

Title:

Quality Test Engineer

  • Provides guidance and direction for developing and improving systems, tools, and processes resulting in increased product quality and efficiency. The candidate will coordinates, administer and perform the quality function of an engineering and technical nature to ensure product quality and reliability at minimum quality costs.

  • Works with component and tooling/equipment suppliers to improve products and resolve manufacturing problems.

  • Creates and maintains test schedules for system level and component level testing.

  • Provides high level estimates for labor hours and material dollars needed to execute a test program.

  • Develops instrumentation plans for system level and component level testing.

  • Communicate program issues, needs, and updates with management and project team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or other technical degrees plus 10-12 years of related experience.

  • Good knowledge of various test equipment, test methods, and procedures - MIL-STD-810, ATPD-2404, ATPD-2167; Must have a thorough understanding of Quality Systems.

  • Must possess strong problem solving and analytical skills.

  • General understanding of Structural Testing and analysis of results including determination of failure modes is required.

  • A working knowledge of computer systems and software including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and related Engineering Graphics and Database software is required.

  • Must have experience working with engineering teams to derive functional and safety-critical requirements.

  • Develop procedures for system validation.

  • Support setup, development, and execution of Safety testing.

  • Experience with Product Development Life Cycle (Systems, Software)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with military programs and systems is preferred.

  • Knowledge in the IATF16949 Quality Management System is an asset.

  • Familiarity with Safety Standards such as MIL-STD-882E, ISO 26262, or DO-178C.

  • Automotive and/or metal working experience preferred.

  • Experience in Safety Critical Systems (Design, Implementation, Test)
