Kforce Quality / Warranty Engineer in Warren, Michigan

Kforce's Metro Detroit, Michigan (MI) automotive client is looking for a Quality/Warranty Engineer for a long-term, renewable contract position.Responsibilities include:

  • Update warranty data charts for assigned program

  • Run weekly Team of 3 meeting that includes Supplier Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing

  • Drive containment and closure of warranty items

  • Keep clear, concise notes

  • Use standardized work and document formats

  • Provide status updates to Leads & peers

Project:

  • This candidate will be assigned to 1 or 2 programs (TBA which projects)

  • Warranty for power and signal distribution systems (wiring, connectors)

Typical Day:

  • 40% of the day is running data and evaluating data

  • 20% of the day would be in meetings

  • 20% of the day would be spent on the phone or meeting with people to resolve issues

  • 10% of the day is on the floor in an assembly plant

Responsibilities/Deliverables:

  • Evaluating warranty data; Ex: When a customer brings a vehicle into a dealership and they have a problem, this problem is evaluated within this department and this candidate would assign the individual who is tasked with figuring out the problems and making sure they do not re-occur

  • Most of this work is standardized work; Mostly consisting of maintaining and running most recent data (warranty data)

  • Updating a template in PowerPoint in Excel that consists of data to present in weekly that this candidate would run

  • Responsible for leading a team; The members of this team are counterparts, not direct reports

  • Candidates are responsible for calling meetings, working with the team to decide who owns the meeting, and driving for resolution

  • Associate's degree in Technology (engineering), an Electrical Engineering degree would be highly preferred

  • Technical background

  • 2-3 years of experience

  • Experience in wiring; ex: harness wiring

  • Candidates must be proficient within Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook email

  • People skills

  • Work well with others

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous wiring experience within a wiring supplier such as Lear, Delphi, or Yazaki
