You will assist the Product Development teams onthe design, development and integration of new restraint systemconcepts for Autonomous and non-autonomous vehicles for OccupantSafetyAdditional Job Description* Use Human Body Models (HBM) to develop interior occupant safety for the next generation of Autonomous Vehicles (AV), as well as non-autonomous vehicles within the HBM capabilities and limitations.* Develop integrate new restraint system concepts for AV and EV's using HBM and ATD's.* Be fully knowledgeable in the Restraint System innovations developed by Automotive Suppliers and Assess effectiveness of new Active and Passive safety features and technologies using HBM which cannot be readily done using ATD models.* Develop deeper understanding of injury mechanism and support development of vehicle performance targets with HBM.* Follow industry trends in the area of computational biomechanics and assist GM Safety Leadership in setting GM strategy for the use of HBM and related tools* Required qualifications for this job are as follows:* MS or PhD in Biomechanics, Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering* 3+ years of industry or academic experience in the use of Human Body finite element Models (HBM) to assess vehicle occupants safety* Demonstrated proficiency in evaluating occupant restraint systems using HBM.* Proficiency in using relevant CAE tools (LS-Dyna, Primer, HyperGraph, Animator, ANSA/ MetaPost, etc.)* In-depth knowledge of biomechanics* Basic knowledge of restraint system design and function* Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics* Ability to create new concepts of vehicle safety systems* Basic knowledge and understanding of Regulatory (FMVSS/ CMVSS) requirements* High degree of analytical ability to solve complex or difficult engineering problems* Good technical leadership skillsBenefits OverviewThe goal of the General Motors total rewards program is to support the health and well-being of you and your family.
