Research Technician I – MI - 2100334
The Process Technician Lead function is to give direction and schedule work within the Urethane applications Process Development Area (High Bay Equipment area). Additionally, this person will also lead projects and operate equipment as required by workload. Demonstrate expertise in operating multiple pieces of primary processing equipment (4-6). Process Lead will work with business unit partners to help achieve their customer and product development goals. Process Lead is responsible for Safety audits and evaluations as needed and will focus on cleanliness and overall efficiency of the Process Development Lab.
Formula for Success
This position is a hands-on working lead role in the urethane or reaction injection molding area.
Work with multiple business units to ensure all priorities are agreed to and executed.
Work with other supervisors and leadership team members on cross functional responsibilities such as Safety, Audits, Building usage, Maintenance, etc.
Understand business goals and objective and align team goals accordingly.
Champions Safety and 5S in all aspects of the job and across internal and external boundaries.
Interact professionally at all time with all team members and other BASF partners.
Capable of standing 8 hours per day.
Ability to lift / carry 50lbs
Capable of running projects and setting priorities of other team members.
Organizes individuals and teams as required to achieve internal partner goals and objectives.
Trains personnel in AIMS, MOC's, Safety reviews, 5S processes.
Tracks equipment and personnel utilization and recommends improvement processes.
Initiates and tracks cost reduction processes.
Re-assigns equipment and personnel resources as required.
Meets with internal partners to set or reset priorities throughout the week.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
High School diploma or GED with 15 years of chemical processing experience OR Associates degree with 8 years of chemical processing experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of chemical processing experience.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong coaching skills preferred.
Experience in a leadership role is preferred.
